## 🐑 The Passover Lamb Typological Timeline

Rather than relying solely on direct predictive prophecy, the Holy Week narrative unfolds according to an intentional typological pattern established in **Exodus 12**.

### Typological Parallels

1. **Six Days Before Passover (John 12)**
   - *Event:* Mary anoints Jesus's feet with pure nard at Bethany.
   - *Typological Parallel:* The Passover lamb is set apart and its feet/legs prepared (Exodus 12:3–6).

2. **Two Days Before Passover (Matthew 26)**
   - *Event:* A woman anoints Jesus's head with expensive perfume from an alabaster jar.
   - *Typological Parallel:* The lamb is publicly inspected and declared free of blemish.

3. **Passover / Crucifixion**
   - *Event:* Jesus is crucified on Golgotha as the true Passover Lamb.
   - *Typological Parallel:* The sacrificial lamb whose blood secures deliverance from death.

4. **At the Cross (John 19:29)**
   - *Event:* A sponge soaked in sour wine is lifted to Jesus's lips on a hyssop stalk.
   - *Typological Parallel:* Echoes Exodus 12:22, where hyssop was dipped in the lamb's blood to mark the doorposts.

> **Historical & Biblical Note:**
> The multi-day anointing pattern (feet 6 days prior, head 2 days prior) reflects thematic and theological harmony in the Gospel accounts. The biblical text of Exodus 12 specifies selecting the lamb on the 10th day, keeping it until the 14th day, and sacrificing it. Primary evidence (John 12, Matthew 26, Exodus 12, John 19) is clearly distinguished from later Jewish tradition to preserve historical rigor in the game.
